Evan Dean Hamilton, age 78, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on January 9, 2014. Born March 15, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ivan and Eliza Evans Hamilton. Raised by Arthur Langton. Dean was the second of six children. Four brothers, Deon, Melvin, David and Lynn and one sister, Carol.
Dean was raised in Salt Lake City and attended West High School. He joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War as a crash fireman. Married Arlene Aries (later divorced). Together they had Ron and Pamela who gave him 4 grandchildren, Tiffany, Todd, John and Jeff (8 great grandchildren). Married Shirley Hunsaker (she preceded him in death). Dean then raised her two children, Kelly and Jill who gave him three more grandchildren, Alicia, Rachel and Kyle. Married Pauline Ford. This union added 7 more to their brood, Shellie, Shaunie, Derek, Jim, John, Joe and Laura (37 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren). He worked as a truck driver most of his life. Dean managed V-1 Propane for many years. He loved to camp and fish. Wendover was always a favorite getaway.
Survived by his wife, Pauline; children, Ron, Pamela, Kelly and Jill; three brothers, Deon Hamilton, David and Lynn Langton; was loved by many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road. Funeral service to begin at 11:00 am with interment to follow. Online condolences at www.redwoodmortuary.com
