Eva Van Komen Veenstra

June 7, 1921 — February 19, 2018

Eva Van Komen Veenstra passed away peacefully Monday February 19, 2018. Eva was born June 7, 1921 in Groningen, the Netherlands. She married Lammert Veenstra on November 20, 1941. In 1950 she immigrated to the United States with her young family with a single suitcase.
Eva worked in the retail business; following her husband’s death with 2 young teenagers she eventually found a job selling bridal gowns. Eva loved this job.
Eva held many callings in the LDS Church, but her favorite was Relief Society President. She made many friendships during this calling.
Eva is survived by her children, Jane, David, Barbara, 6 grandsons and several great grandchildren. She has been preceded in death by her husband (Lammert), parents (Pouwel, Maria), 3 brothers (Bouke, Egbert, and William), 4 sisters (Henderkien, Bonje, Kristina, Jisteltje), son (Pouwel), daughter Mary, grandson John.
Viewing will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 6-8 p.m., Memorial Mountain View, 3115 E. 7800 S. Cottonwood Heights. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24 12:00 noon, Crosspointe Ward, 1327 W 5550 South.  Viewing 1 hour prior to service. Interment immediately following service at Memorial Mountain View.
