Eunice Frost Read

Eunice Frost Read, 94, died on February 1, 2017, after many loving visits from family and friends. She was born to Ira Lewis Frost and Vyla June Dayley Frost on February 7, 1922, in Moscow, Idaho, the oldest of nine children. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Read; a great-grandson, Rafe Schulthies; sisters Thelma and Marion; and brothers Myron and Gerald. She is survived by her children Bill Read, Ronda Cunningham (Walt), Rosanne Schulthies (Don); Ramona Morrill (Wayne); David Read (Regina); and stepson Leonard Stewart (LaWauna); 26 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and sisters Celia Gilmour, Lorna Turner, Irma Lindsay, and Kathryn Goodfellow.
Eunice was always enthusiastic to learn, and to share that love of learning with her posterity. She especially loved studying nature, and was a member of the Utah Nature Study Society for many years. She loved nature walks and hikes, and loved to identify the various wildflowers, trees, and birds. She loved astronomy, music, culture and languages, poetry, and many other pursuits. She read the newspaper avidly and kept her mind very alert.
Eunice was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and gave her best efforts to a wide variety of callings, including full-time service in the Western States Mission. She taught the gospel to her own children as well as to many others.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 6, at 11:00 a.m., at the Greenfield LDS Chapel, 6600 Greenfield Way (1800 South) in Cottonwood Heights, with viewings at the Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, on Sunday, February 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and on Monday one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Humanitarian Aid fund of the LDS Church. Memories may be shared at www.memorialutah.com
