Eugene W. Price passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the age of 90. He was born at home in Union, Utah to Lucy Ellen Williams Price and Angus Byard Price, on August 15, 1923. He was the ninth of 10 children in the Price family. He spent his youth working on the family farm of twenty acres his parents had purchased in 1919 in what is now Cottonwood Heights, Utah. In 1944 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. Before being sent overseas he married Margaret Duncan in the Salt Lake Temple on June 21, 1944. He spent the duration of World War II stationed in Italy as the tail gunner on a B-24 bomber having completed 35 bombing missions. He was very proud of being a veteran and of having given service to his country. After returning home from the war he enrolled at the University of Utah earning a degree in education. After graduation he was employed with the Granite School District as a sixth grade teacher. He later became principal in charge of three elementary schools, Redwood, Woodrow Wilson and Howard Driggs. He was an active member of the LDS church and served as a Ward and Stake Clerk, Bishopric Counselor, High Councilor, and as an ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple. Eugene had a full and interesting life, visiting 17 different countries and 48 states. He loved the mountains and grew wonderful tomatoes and flowers. He was preceded in death by: his parents; nine brothers and sisters; and beloved wife Margaret. He is survived by his three children, Jeanine Clayton (Richard), Ronald Price, and Robert Price (Julie). He has nine grandchildren, Amy, Jeff, Luke, Kimberly, Jared, Holly, Stefanie, Danielle and Michelle; and nine great grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Murray Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the Butler 20th Ward chapel, 1355 East 7200 South with a viewing one hour prior to services.
