Esther Jackson Wallace finished her earthly experience March 15, 2015 surrounded by loving family. Samuel Andrew and Iretta Woolley Jackson gifted her with life on June 14, 1927 in their unfinished cabin in Emigration Canyon. She was the youngest of 12 children. She graduated from East High School (happy carefree days) and attended the University of Utah. Life for her was enriched through her marriage to Earl Moroni Wallace of Provo, Utah, in 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple.Her greatest joy came through being a career homemaker, wife, and mother to 5 sons and 1 daughter. Life was exciting for her as she served in church and community service, loved the outdoors, and worked in the garden.
She became a much-loved piano teacher and was a member of the Salt Lake Utah Chapter Music Teachers’ Association. She served as a Den Leader for years in the Cub Scout program and was a favorite amongst the boys. She and Earl served as directors of the LDS Mesa, Arizona Temple Visitor’s Center. She served as a Political Party District chair. She is remembered for the many kind notes she wrote to others, her smile, her laughter, and her positive encouragement.
Esther is survived by her husband, Earl, her six children; Lane (Rhonda) Columbus, Ohio; Brent (Julie) Mountain Green, Utah; Dale (Connie) Cedar City, Utah; George (Debi) Hauula, Hawaii; Wendy Brewster (Steve); Sandy, Utah and Harlan (Karin) Holladay, Utah; 26 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her mother and father, 11 siblings, and son-in-law, Steve.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m., at the Holladay 10th Ward LDS Chapel, 4601 S. Chapel Street (2564 East). A viewing will be held on Friday, March 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive and at the church building the day of the service from 10-10:45.
