Esther Okamura Sasaki

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend passed away on August 13, 2016 in Salt Lake City, UT to be reunited with the love of her life “Buck”. Born July 15, 1928 to Yoheiji Okamura and Angelina (Raso) Okamura in Knolls, UT. Married Frank (Buck) Sasaki on December 1, 1947 in Elko, NV. She graduated from South High School in 1946. Mom loved her flowers, bowling, golfing, the cabin in Afton, WY and especially her family. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, Buck Sasaki, her parents Yoheiji and Angelina Okamura, her sisters and brother Ruby (Gilbert) Lopez, Merrie Louie, Joseph Okamura, and brother-in-law Leslie Fuller. Esther is survived by her brother Frank (Aleena) Okamura, sister Linda Fuller, brother-in-law William Louie, her children Susan Akagi (Mark), Sherrie Endo (Edward), Steven Sasaki (Shirley), Scott Sasaki (Eleanor), and Sterling Sasaki. Also 16 Grandchildren and 24 Great grandchildren. Everyone who knew Mom knew that if you asked her something she would tell it like it is, sometimes even when you didn’t ask. A few of her last statements were, “Think of me”, “Pray for me”, “Take care of each other”, and “That’s all I have to say”.
Viewing 6:00 – 7:30 pm followed by Holy Rosary on Sunday, August 28. Funeral & Holy Mass on Monday, August 29 at 11:00 am. Both events to be held at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 3560 West 3650 South. Interment to immediately follow the funeral at Redwood Memorial Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road.
