Erma Mary Tapp Withers

Erma was born on February 13, 1932 to Raymond Stephen Tapp and Nettie Hansen Tapp. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1950. Married Clark J Withers on November 21, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. She worked for Hartford Insurance, Jensen Oil Company and retired from the Salt Lake County Library System in 1997.
Erma was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she held many callings. She was Secretary to four Relief Society Presidents and was a Primary President.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister, Donna (John) Wilkinson.
She is survived by her brothers; Lee Tapp, Delbert Tapp, Verl (Sharon) Tapp, sisters; Jeannette Mullins, Marie (Earl) McKee, special children; Stephen LaRanne Withers, Brenda (Duane) Mitchell, Shauna (Lonnie) Tanner, grandchildren; Melani (Phil) Martinez, SueAnn Mitchell, Stacy (Bill) Cooke, Stephen LaRanne (Tanya) Withers Jr., Clark J. (C.J.) Withers, great-grandchildren; Marcus, Monica Martinez, Aaron, Katie Martinez, Avalynn Rose, Corvin Cooke, Adilyn, Corbyn, Gracelyn, Emberlyn Withers and one great-grandson on the way.
The family would like to thank members of the River 8th Ward with a special thanks to Frankie Holt. We also wish to thank Janet and Emma from Encompass Health Care as well as the staff at Landmark Hospital for treating our mother with dignity and compassion.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the River 8th Ward, 10775 South Country Creek Drive (1231 West) in South Jordan.
A viewing will be on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Interment will follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens of Sandy.Service Information
