Erika Zorn

November 4, 1920 — April 19, 2015

Our Beautiful Mother, Oma and Friend returned to her Heavenly Father on April 19, 2015 she was 94 years young. Erika lived a full and healthy life and she went peacefully in her sleep.
Erika was born in Wesenberg, Germany on November 4, 1920 to Parents August Winkelmann and Hedwig Marie Utech. Erika Immigrated from Germany to the United States with her son Rolf in 1950. She Married Ludwig (Louie) Zorn, who passed in 1985. She is also preceded in death by her son Rolf Tiede, and her step children Linda Ellanna and Dianne Cawood.
Erika was a very independent woman who loved to Dance and Sing. Erika and her longtime friend Berny Meng were a familiar site at Oktoberfest. She was an accomplished business woman, sales woman and seamstress. She loved to garden and cook and she deeply loved her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her friend/partner Berny Meng, her Brother Herman Winkelman ( Judy) and her Sister Inge Vandertoolen, Erika’s Children, Shirley Zorn (Steve Jensen),Randy Zorn, Heidi Zorn (Mark Neihart), and her Daughter-in-laws Donna Tiede, Debi Hansen, and her grandchildren; Chelsea Zorn -Dirkson (Adam), Joshua Steinocher Zorn, Linae Coats ( Nathan), Tricia Copenhaver, Shaun Tiede ( Melissa), Randall Zorn, Ciara Takemori (Nick) and many many great grand children.
There will be a Celebration of Life service held at Mountain View Memorial Mortuary 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah Saturday April 25, 2015. Viewing for Family will begin at 12:00, viewing for friends and guests at 1:00 pm, service to follow at 2:00 pm.
A special thank you to Carrington Court Assisted Living and staff for the loving care given in the last year of her life.
