Emmaline Blanche Evenson Clayton, 95, passed away September 18, 2014 in Cedar Hills, Utah.
Born September 6, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Edwin Evenson and Lucy Beryl Fox. Grew up in Mar Vista, California. Married Serge David Clayton, August 8, 1944 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her youth was centered around her family and many friends who called her “Sunny.” She had a deep love of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was a talented teacher in Sunday School and Relief Society. She was a pioneer of the church in Southern California and the Mar Vista Stake. She was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to sew clothes for her children. There wasn't a homemaking art that she hadn’t mastered whether it was sewing draperies, designing houses, fireplaces, hanging wallpaper or painting. Her oil paintings adorned her homes.
Survived by children: Curtis (Barbara) Clayton, Mary Ann (Reed) Fisher, Nancy (Bill) Zundel, Marsha (Byron) Orton; 15 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and her sister Louise Cain.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014, at 2 pm, in the Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive. Viewing from 12:30 – 1:30 prior to the service.
Interment will be at Holladay Memorial Park. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.holladaycottonwoodmortuary.com
