Elvira Gemio de Morales, age 98, passed away gracefully surrounded by her children on January 2, 20l9, in South Jordan, Utah. She was born in Oruro, Bolivia. She married Francisco Morales in March of 1943. She was preceded in death by her parents (Simeon and Estefania Gemio), seven siblings, and a daughter-in-law. She is survived by her four children, 11 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and cooking, and most of all helping her family in whatever needs they had, which included taking care of them when they were sick. She and her husband pioneered the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Oruro by being the first family baptized on May 7, 1966. She served a temple mission in San Pablo, Brazil in 1986. She enjoyed life and was grateful to the Lord for her many blessings. Her favorite words were “Bendito sea Dios” and “Gracias” which means “blessed be the Lord” and “Thank you”. Her memorial services will be held on Saturday January 12, 2019 at 11:00 am in the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints located at 351 Lofty Lane, North Salt Lake, UT 84054.Service Information
