Elva Mary Duran Herrera

June 1, 1944 — January 31, 2019

Elva Mary Herrera (Duran) returned home to our Heavenly Father January 31, 2019 peacefully at her home in West Valley City, Utah. She was born June 1, 1944 to Fred Duran and Mary Gallegos in Dragerton, Utah.
Elva loved to sing, cook, spend time with her grandkids, attend church, study her Bible, and travel with her husband, Armando. She was a dedicated servant of the Lord and was always happiest when she was spreading God’s word to others.
She survived by her husband of 40 years, Armando Herrera, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother, and sisters.
She preceded in death by her parents; son, Danny “Nesho” Montoya; brothers, Fred Duran Jr. and Joe Duran; sister, Lucy Velasquez.
Funeral services will be held Thursday February 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road. The family will receive friends at a viewing on Wednesday evening from 6:00- 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Internment: Redwood Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Bobbie Lynn Montoya, Monica Santibanez, and the staff at Elevation Hospice for the care they gave her.
