Elva Jane Amodt

Elva Jane Amodt, our loving mother peacefully passed away June 16, 2022, Elva married Francis Delon Simmons Aug. 26, 1953. Together they had 4 daughters.  She later married Carl C. Amodt, Sept. 10, 1962 and had a son.
Mom loved bowling and won many trophies! She loved holidays and playing the piano.  Her favorite activity was family gatherings, cooking and baking her specialty chocolate chip cookies. She also loved dancing, and crocheting blankets for loved ones.
She is survived by sister’s, Sherry (Charlie)(deceased), Lois (Jimmy), Louise. Niece Raelynn (Kevin). Daughters, Mavanee (Boyd), Brenda (Hank), Denise (Mike), Francine (Clarke). Son, Steve (Doremi).  Eight grandchildren, Seven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her father, Denzel F. Barney; her mother, Joyce Dickinson; sisters, Elsa and Carol; brothers, Dick and Garry; husbands, Francis Simmons and Carl Amodt; and nephew, Rick.
She will be dearly missed by all who remain, though we know she’s doing the jitter bug and bop on the other side.
Elva had been lovingly cared for at Riverway Assisted Living. Her family would like to extend their extreme gratitude for the outstanding love and kindness she received while in their care. A special thanks to all the staff, notably Mickey, Meg, Jenn and Jim.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, June 23, 2022 as Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 S Redwood, West Jordan, Utah. A time for visitation and sharing memories will be held at the mortuary from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow in the Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
