Elmina Harper

April 21, 1915 — June 9, 2014

Elmina May Moser Harper was born April 21, 1915 in Garfield, Jefferson County, Idaho. She passed away June 9th, 2014 in Holladay, UT. She was the 9th child of Francis and Elise (Eliza) Moser. She came from a family of 16 children. She came to Utah in order to help one of her sister's with her children, and met and married Glenn H. Harper June 2, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Elmina was active in her church and served in the Primary for many years. She was also the quilting instructor for many years and created some incredible quilts. Elmina served as an election official for many years and had an extensive knowledge of the law. Her talents for growing an abundant garden were amazing and there was never anything that she could not grow. She would always share her delicious produce and starts of plants with many people. She would bottle everything and always had an incredible variety in her pantry. Elmina was also an excellent cook, baker and candy maker. She always had a special treat ready when someone showed up, no matter what time of year it was. She made many kinds of goodies and always had the recipes memorized. She also spent time making doll clothes and other homemade items. She was very generous and giving to those in need. She had many charities, her church, and family members who were recipients of her generosity. Elmina was fiercely independent and even with age and dementia, was adamant about staying in her own home. Robyn was Elmina's care giver and was instrumental in providing Elmina with devoted care and love during her final days.
Elmina was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, her parents, and her brothers and sisters, except Joe Moser.
She will be greatly missed by her many nieces and nephews who thought Elmina was the "best" aunt ever!!
