Elli Gerd Spencer

Elli Gerd Spencer, age 79, passed away on September 29, 2016. Elli was born July 30, 1937 to Brigham and Doris Olsen in Moore, Idaho. She married the love of her life, Kenneth L. Spencer on April 18, 1955 and together they had three sons and one daughter. Her son Stephen was one of her many blessings, and the two of them formed a close and special relationship as he became her main caretaker.
Throughout her life she enjoyed many hobbies including; sewing, collecting dolls, and scrap-booking. In her lifetime she made beautiful hand-sewn scrapbooks and produced 29 albums which journalized her life. She was also an accomplished pianist and had a great love for music.
She is survived by her sons, Raymond L. Spencer (Lawanna), Paul J. Spencer (Mary), and Stephen L. Spencer, her 8 grandchildren, her 13 great grandchildren, her siblings Linda Simonson (Kent) of St. George,  Ester Taatarii of Las Vegas and Mark Olsen (Janice).
She is preceded in death by her daughter Rebecca Ann Spencer, her husband Kenneth Spencer, and her parents Brigham and Doris Olsen.
Funeral services will be held in Elli’s honor on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM, with a viewing one hour prior at the Sandy Central Stake Center, located at 1050 East Galena Drive, Sandy, Utah 84094. The interment will take place following services at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery located at 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
