Born on March 26,1917 in Maeser, Uintah County, Utah – as a daughter of Jeremiah Hatch Murray and Rachel Ellen Merkley. Her mother passed away shortly after her birth and she was raised by Keturah Petersen Merkley and Nelson Merkley, Jr., her uncle and aunt.
She married W. Clair Fletcher on August 14, 1935 in Vernal, Uintah County, Utah.
She had three sons, W. Lance Fletcher, Steven W. Fletcher, a twin and Michael K. Fletcher, also a twin.
She died on December 16, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah
She is survived by her youngest son, Michael, a twin, eight grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clair, and her sons, Lance and Steven. She served in multiple positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a home maker virtually all her life, including Relief Society President during the tenure of five bishops and twenty two years as the Ward Librarian. During World War II, she worked at Hill Army Air Base where she worked on the aircraft that delivered the bombs that ended the war with Japan.
Funeral services will be held on December 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilford First Ward where she lived for more than 70 years at 3271 Highland Drive in Salt Lake City.
