Elizabeth Dennison Chavez

November 19, 1951 — November 11, 2019

Elizabeth Dennison Chavez, age 67, of Murray, UT, passed away November 11th 2019, with her husband by her side, as they read the scriptures. She squeezed his hand one more time then she quietly and peacefully crossed the veil.
Elizabeth was born November 19th 1951 in Fort Defiance Arizona, is the daughter of the late world war II veteran Arkie Dennison and still living is her mother Betty Dennison brothers and sister; Mary, Herbert, Herman Dennison of Tohatchi New Mexico.
She took part in the LDS Placement Program where she lived with the “Condie” family in St. George Utah. Elizabeth graduated from Dixie High-school in 1971. She faithfully served a Youth mission during high school for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
“Liz” met her husband Carlos Isaías Chávez Yañez her ”Charlie” while attending Brigham Young University. Together they raised five beautiful children and we’re married for 47 years. Carlos and Elizabeth were married and sealed as an eternal family in the Salt Lake City Temple.
As an accomplished ESL teacher she served the Granite School District for 32 years. Mom never wanted to retire and always had the desire to keep on teaching. On the side she would enjoy running her Miss Indian Teen World pageant and
was our dad’s sidekick at any video/photo shoot. Our beloved mother never gave up on her kids dreams and was always their #1 fan and cheerleader. Elizabeth was immensely proud of all her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
November 29th 2017 Elizabeth was diagnosed with gastric cancer. As her health declined, she never gave up hope and was a fighter to her last breath. Today she leaves us a legacy to continue personal growth, never give up on your dreams and have faith in the Lord to guide you.
She is survived by her husband Carlos Isaías Chavez Yañez children: Brenda and Steve Larner , Bobby and Lisa Chavez Alex and Jin Chavez, Marisol and Manuel Gutierrez, Victoria and Brian Blackie. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchild. Preceded in death by her beloved father Arkie Dennison
