Elena “Bunny” Torres

Elena (Bunny) Augustina Torres, 81, born June 19, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Manuel Sanchez Torres and Augustina Rivera Torres, Passed away on May 20, 2015. Bunny is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Rebecca Chavez and Maria McCune, and brothers Moises Jose and Antonio. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Hope Otanez Torres, brother-in-law, Conwell McCune and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bunny graduated from South High School. She studied the piano from Mr. Hankey and was quite proficient at classical music. After she graduated from high school Bunny moved to New York City to study classical music piano at Julliard; later to supplement her income she became a fashion designer. She was not able to continue living in New York due to an illness and later moved back to Salt Lake City where she lived the rest of her life.

A Funeral Service will be held at Saturday, May 30, at 11:00 at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 S 900 E. A Viewing will be held one hour prior. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
