Eldon Pugh

January 22, 1933 — March 1, 2015

Devoted father, grandfather and friend returned to his Heavenly Father on March 1st, 2015 to be reunited with his sweetheart of 63 years. He was born in Kanab, Utah on January 22, 1933. Son of David Edgar and Ione Shaw Pugh. He was the second child of four children. He married the love of his life Bonnie Louise Sears on June 16th 1951. Together our parents were blessed with 8 children, 30 Grand children, and 30 Great Grandchildren. He was a hard working man who always wanted to provide the best for his family.
Eldon owned many businesses in the trucking industry. He had a deep passion for airplanes and flying. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army.
Eldon was a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served many years in the scouting program. He was awarded the Silver Beaver award In the Boy Scouts of America Organization. Eldon was the president of the Blinded Veterans of Utah Association from 1997-2007, and a present Executive Board Member.
Survived by his children Kathryn (Rick) LaBrune, Anna (Ben) Curtis, Marla (Scott) Wood, Janet (Robby) Aston, Merlynn (Grady) Lindly, Craig (Theresa) Pugh, David Pugh, Brenda (Mike) Pierce. Siblings Gaylon (Virginia) Pugh, Keith (Jane) Pugh. Preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister Winona Bevan and grandson Eric.
The family would like to give an extra special thank you to the Veterans Administration for the many years of care. We would also like to thank Icare Hospice Team and Sandy Health and Rehab staffing.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7th, 2015. 11 am at the Cannon 5th Ward, 1250 W. 1400 S., Salt Lake City. Viewings will be Friday, March 6th from 6 – 8 pm and Saturday 9:30 – 10:45 am prior to the service. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Estates.
