Elaine Michelle Harrington Young

Elaine Michelle Young, 65 passed away January 11th, 2024 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, after a long battle with her health. She was born November 13h, 1958 in Wichita, Kansas to Junior Lee and Romayne Harrington. Her family later moved to California where she attended Cerritos College, it was there that she met her husband. She married her eternal companion James D. Young in 1980 and was later sealed to him in the Jordan River Temple.
Jim and Michelle moved to Utah shortly after being married, where they raised their three children. Michelle was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She always put others before herself and was always willing to help whenever she could. She had a lot of hobbies, but found the most enjoyment in flower gardening, house plants, crafting of all types, and making jewelry. Michelle was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a primary teacher for over 15 years. She was very talented and led a full, and eventful life. Leaving behind a loving family and cherished memories.
Elaine is survived by her husband Jim; two daughters Amanda (David) Te’o, and Samantha (David) Gallegos of Salt Lake City, Utah; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her in-laws, Jim and Dianne Young; brothers Albert Avery, and Robert Leroy Harrington; son Andrew Robert Young; and her grandson James Ryder Young.
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on January 27th, 2024 at the LDS Church located at 6030 South Prairie View Drive, Taylorsville, Utah. The viewing will begin at 11:00 AM followed by the service at 12:00 PM. Graveside service will begin at 1:30 PM at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
