May 28, 1922 — January 27, 2014

Elaine Lepas Chaus “Yia Yia”
Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Wife passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by loved ones, on Monday, January, 27, 2014. Elaine was born to William and Maria Lepas in Ogden, Utah, on May 28, 1922, and married George Chaus in Salt Lake City on July 29, 1951.
She was a loving mother, who would do anything for her family. She never missed attending sporting events for her children and grandchildren. She was known for her garden, outstanding baking and Greek cooking. “Yia Yia’s was always the best!” She cared deeply for her family and her Church. She was a lifetime member and pillar of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and a past president of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She was always giving while taking very little in return. She will be deeply missed.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, sister Katherine, and husband George. She is survived by her brother, George, children, Bill (Sharon), Michael (Dayna), Gus (Kimberly), and Steven (Annette) along with 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014, 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Cathedral. A viewing will take place at Deseret Mortuary on Friday, February 7, 2014, from 6-8:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Interment Mt Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Holy Trinity Cathedral in her memory. We love you Yia Yia! May her memory be eternal. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.deseretmortuary.com. Funeral Directors: Deseret Mortuary
