Heaven received an angel! Our sweet and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Elaine Aerts, age 59, returned home to her Heavenly Father on November 13, 2015 after passing away peacefully and unexpectedly in her sleep.
Elaine was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was sealed to her dear husband, Dave, whom she loved very much.
Elaine treasured time spent with her husband, kids and grandkids and using their timeshare to travel to together. Her kids and grandkids truly brought her the greatest pride and joy in life. She always kept the freezer stocked with ice cream and the candy dish full of treats for when the grandkids would come over. Her family got a kick out of her love for junk food—especially chocolate almonds—and how she still managed to stay so skinny.
Elaine had the biggest heart and enjoyed serving others. She was a true example of Christlike attributes. She will always be remembered as being loving, forgiving, kind and charitable, always putting the needs of others before her own.
Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Dave, her children, Mark (Heather) Nelson of Kearns, UT, Valerie (Jared) Longhurst of Orem, UT, Scott Nelson of West Valley City, UT, Austin (Lindsay) Aerts of Salt Lake City, UT, as well as her seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Velda Mae Cox, and brother, Hollis Lang.
Our hearts are heavy as way say goodbye, but we know that we will see her again someday. We love and miss you so much! Until we meet again.
