Eileen Snarr passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loving family members, on August 12, 2017. Eileen was born April 5, 1936, in Murray, Utah, to Raymond Dean and Thora Long Snarr. She is survived by brother Don (Kathy) Snarr of Copperton, and Sister Janet (Don) Rogers of Alpine, as well as a beloved nephew, Taylor World, of Sandy. She is also survived by her beloved Aunts and Uncle, numerous cousins, and many nephews and nieces, who will miss her dearly. She is also survived by many Sitterud brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces, whom she considered and loved as her own family. Eileen is preceded in death by her parents and brother Kendall (Louise) Snarr, and a beloved lifetime sister and friend, Gladys Sitterud. Eileen grew up in Sandy and graduated from Jordan High School. She was a superb executive secretary for many years. After retirement she volunteered ten years for the Literacy Center in Salt Lake City. Eileen loved music and had an eclectic collection that she enjoyed. She was an outstanding gardener and often shared her surplus from her vegetable garden with neighbors and friends. Her yard was always immaculate and trimmed. She was an extensive reader and loved to share her favorite books with friends. Eileen’s Daddy taught her to do crossword puzzles at an early age, and she became a master and continued to do them all her life. She loved the mountains and enjoyed many summers with Gladys at their cabin. Eileen learned to cook at a young age and always provided the awesome rolls for family get-togethers. She loved a clean and orderly home, and even as she became more incapacitated kept it dust-free and clean. Eileen has loved and cared for several Shelties and mourned for each one as it passed on. Her best friend and protector, “Sunny” will be loved and cared for until she, too, can join Eileen. The family especially wishes to express gratitude to the Solstice Hospice group who so tenderly and lovingly cared for Eileen, including Beckie, Ginger, and Tammy, as well as all the wonderful angels who cared for her around the clock for the last two weeks of her life.
