Edward Nachio Ortega

Hair Design by Mr. Ortega’s is forever closed with the passing of Edward Nachio Ortega on March 8th, 2019.
Edward was born on January 21, 1942 in Bingham Canyon, Utah. Edward was the second child of seven born to Nachio and LaRose Ortega.
He followed in his father’s footsteps and lettered in football at Bingham High School.
Edward started Hair Design by Mr. Ortega in 1962 in Kearns and retired after 48 year in 2010.
The event that change Edward’s life was when he was out with his family and his vehicle stalled on the train tracks. Edward was seriously injured he almost lost his life. He did lose a leg but fought through and never stopped fighting for what was important to him.
He was the keeper of stories and events for the family. He loved the holidays and would get very emotional when everyone was together because it meant so much to him to have everyone near.
Edward is survived by his wife of 28 years Merretta “Meg” Ortega, his children Edward Nachio Jr, Shawn (Lisa) Ortega and Tiffany (Jonathan) Best. He enjoyed time with his 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also his 4 brother and 2 sisters.
Edward was true to his faith and was a member and served The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for over 70 years. He was sealed to Meg at the Jordan River Temple for time and all eternity.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at 11:00 AM with a viewing an hour prior at the Fox Pointe Ward, 1465 West Bristol Ridge Road, West Jordan, UT, 84088.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Rose Alires for always being there to take care of her best friend and brother from the time his was born to his last days with us.
Edward’s wishes will be honored, and he will be cremated and returned to his loving family.
