Edward Robert Mulder, left this earth on January 26th, 2025, at the age of 83, in West Jordan, Utah. He was born in Schiedam, Holland, on March 14th, 1941, to Pieter and Truus Mulder. Edward, or “Robby” as he was called by his parents and siblings, immigrated to the United States in 1959 by ship- along with his parents, brothers, and sister: Peter, Hans, Octave, Frank, and Josephine. They would travel to Salt Lake City where they started their new lives.
It was Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Salt Lake City where Edward would meet the love of his life, Nancy Trujillo. They courted and were eventually married at the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City on February 15th, 1964. Together, Edward and Nancy raised 4 children, and in time, grew to include many grandchildren. He loved his family and was always there for them. He was proud of them! Edward was devoted to his wife, and was a wonderful example of what it is to be a husband and a father. He wasn’t very talkative, but he was funny. He would surprise us with funny comments when we didn’t expect them.
Book Binder by trade. Edward worked at the Mountain States Bindery for 40 years before retiring. He was very crafty and skilled with tools. He enjoyed woodworking and built treasure boxes for all of his kids and grandkids. He was a big fan of Judge Judy and WWE Wrestling.
In 2024, Edward and Nancy made a monumental achievement of 60 years of marriage. Family and friends from all over helped us to celebrate this event by sending videos of congratulations and love.
Edward is survived by his loving wife and children: Mitch (Alecia), Rodney (Amy), Doreen, and Olivia, and heir many grandchildren who lovingly knew him as Opa. He is preceded in death by his parents Pieter and Truus, and his baby sister, Johanna.
He will always be with us, as long as our hearts beat. Rest in Peace.
