On Monday, April 29th, a beloved and cherished soul departed from this world to reunite with her Heavenly Father. Edna Mackenzie, a woman of remarkable strength and grace, passed away after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born on November 10th, 1947, in Sauniatu Samoa, to her loving parents Fialupe and Heber Crichton, Edna's life was a testament to love and service. In 1966, she married her soulmate, Ian, and together they embarked on a journey filled with faith and devotion. Their union was sealed in the sacred halls of the Jordan River Temple after Ian embraced the teachings of the LDS Church.
Edna was a beacon of light to all who crossed her path. Her selflessness knew no bounds, and she dedicated her life to caring for her family, especially her adored grandchildren. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Edna considered her family her greatest achievement, showering them with endless love and affection.
Despite facing numerous trials and tribulations, including her battle with cancer, Edna remained steadfast and resilient. She bore her pain with grace and dignity, never once complaining or seeking pity. Her sweet spirit and nature was an inspiration to all who knew her.
As she bids farewell to this world, Edna is greeted by a host of beloved family members who have gone before her. Her reunion with Ian, Fialupe (mother), Norman (stepdad), Heber (father), Dennis (brother), Sila (sister), Dioleta (sister), Penina (niece), Adrian (great-grandson), Elva (stepmom), Dawn (sister), Nana (mom-in-law), Kingy (father-in-law), and Francis (brother-in-law) brings her comfort and joy in the afterlife.
Edna leaves behind her five children: Clemens, Terry, Francis, Arlene, and Liza; her seven grandchildren: Abriel, Cassandra, Austin, Isaac, Briena, Kiley, and Jaiden; and her six great-grandchildren: Jazmyn, Mileena, Miley, Amelia, Brinley, and Elsie.
Gratitude is extended to all who supported and cared for Edna during her time of need, especially Terry, Francis, and Liza, whose unwavering love and dedication provided comfort and solace in her final months. A heartfelt appreciation to all of Grandma’s grandkids who brought her endless supplies of soups when that was all she could eat, and to Kiley who stayed by Grandma's side in the hospital and drove miles to get any type of food she craved.
Edna's legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love of her Heavenly Father and reunited with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed.
