Edna was born in Dillon, Montana on January 3, 1923 to Carl and Josephine Erstad Borgaes. Edna was the youngest of four siblings; Carl Borgaes, Gladys Sproul, and Grace Richards. Edna moved to Wyoming when she was three years old and grew up in Larbage, Wyoming. She met her future husband William (Bode) Crawford on a blind date in 1938 and they were married on September 14, 1940. Edna also loved to work in her yard, crocheting, embroidering, traveling, hunting for arrowheads, playing cards, and watching the Utah Jazz.
She learned how to knit at the age of 87 years old. Edna worked as a sales clerk in the grocery industry and in a dry goods store, which she managed for several years before retiring and moving to Utah. Edna was a founding and 50 year member of the Happy Homemakers, a home economics club that did fund raisers to buy incubators for the Lincoln County Hospital and they bought the first playground equipment for the Town of Diamondville City Park.
