Edith Lidia Pokorny

Passed away on March 7, 2017, in West Valley City, Utah. She was born on July 30, 1932, in Montevideo, Uruguay, daughter of Jose Juan Pokorny and Filomena Alida Ferreira. She later married Shakespeare Humberto Gonzalez.
She was a nurse for over 40 years. She enjoyed singing all of her life, including opera performances. She loved leading choirs. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her daughter, Adriana Gonzalez; Grandson, Rodrigo Grajales, Brother, Carlos Antonio Pokorny; Sister, Elizabeth Pokorny Robertson (Herbert Carter Robertson).
She is preceded in death by her husband Shakespeare Humberto Gonzalez; Father, Jose Juan Pokorny; Mother, Filomena Alida Ferreira.
Services will be as follows: Viewing Thursday, March 9th from 6:30-8:30 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. A viewing will also be held on Friday, March 10th at 11:30 AM-12:30 PM, followed by funeral services at Springhill Ward 5635 South 2200 West, Bennion, Utah. Interment will be following the funeral services at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Please join us to honor and celebrate my mother’s life.
