Edgar Miller

February 9, 1927 — December 10, 2014

Edgar Hugh Miller, 87, passed away at home December 10, 2014, from complications of a stroke.
Hugh was born in Claresholm, Alberta CA, on February 9, 1927 to George W. & Emma S. Miller, the youngest of five children. His family moved to Utah when he was a child. He graduated from South High School where he met his sweetheart, Nadine Pardini. They were married July 15, 1946 in the Logan Temple. They have been best friends and lovers for over 68 years and have never been apart.
He proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard during WWII on the USS Cambria and was among the first to arrive in Nagasaki, Japan after the bomb. He worked for the US Postal Service as an examiner and retired after 35 years. He was a strong, devoted man who worked hard all his life to provide for his family who always came first. He loved taking care of his home and yard yet was always there to lend a helping hand to others. He loved family vacations and traveling to see the world. Everywhere he went, whether around town or on trips to Europe, he always seemed to see someone he knew. He loved people and was loved and admired by all who knew him. He never spoke a bad word about anyone and always wore a contagious smile, even when he wasn’t feeling well. He loved life and was a joy to be around. He was a genuine, caring man who was generous to a fault. He was sincere, kind hearted, funny, loving, and very proud of his family.
He leaves behind his loving wife, four daughters, Kris (John) Gregory, Debbie (Kurt) Kamerath, Lori (Roger) Tramp, Shelly (Steve) Meier, 12 Grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his daughter, Adele, grandson, Roger Donohue, two brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Monday, December 15, at 11am at the Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S. Highland Drive. Family and friends may call Sunday, December 14, from 6-8 pm and from 10-11 am prior to the service. Interment to follow in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive, SLC, UT
