Eddie, 71, passed away on May 11, 2024, due to Leukemia, COPD, and pneumonia. Born January 15th, 1953, in Effingham Illinois, to Ardy and Rosalie Cunningham, he spent his childhood in Crete and Monee Illinois. Eddie married Lorraine (Lorry) Hodgkins on Dec 23rd, 1971, in Chicago Heights Illinois. He entered the Marine Corps in June of 1971 and retired in October 1991 with 20 years of service and many honors and awards and valuable knowledge. While in the Marine Corp, he was able to work toward and received his Associates in Drafting Degree. The Marine Corp allowed him and his family to travel all over the United States. After his retirement from the Marines, he found employment with Word Perfect and later settled with CUSA/Fiserv where he spent another 25-year career installing computer systems for Credit Unions around the US.
He enjoyed spending time with Riverton Arts Council, where he made sets and dabbled in acting. After that adventure he moved to a new love, videography, and photography, where he spent lots of family events recording and taking pictures. He spent his spare time watching Sci-Fi shows, and movies. His favorite spare time was spent with family, sitting around the kitchen table eating, visiting, and playing family games. e H
Survived by Wife: Lorry; Daughters: Jamie (Christian) Phelps, Tricia (Jeffrey) Erickson, Kelli (Gregory) Stevenson, and Shana (Bradley) Engh, 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; Siblings: Brothers Allen, Wayne, and Michael and brother-in-law Tim Crose.
Preceded in death by Parents: Ardy and Rosalie, Sister: Karen Crose, Brother: Paul and granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Erickson.
His family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses, receptionists at LDS Hospital, Loveland Clinic for the love and care they showed Eddie. Also, Amber and Tara along with all Intermountain Hospice who helped see that he was comfortable in his last days.
Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 31, 2024 at the Harvest Park 5th Ward meeting house, 4501 West 11800 S, Riverton, UT 84096. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 am Interment will occur at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary & Cemetery, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121.
