Earnest Taylor Behunin

April 17, 1926 — April 30, 2017

In memory of Earnest Taylor Behunin.
Dad (grandpa) left his earthly home to join his eternal wife on April 30, 2017.  He was born April 17, 1926 in Talmage, Utah.  His eternal companion is Nelda Hampton Behunin.  They were married on June 18, 1949.  They were sealed for time and all eternity on December, 1 1961.  
 
Dad loved hunting, fishing, and camping especially at Moon Lake.  He cultivated a beautiful garden.  He won “Best Yard of the Month” award in Rose Park.  He was very creative in his woodworking skills making cabinets for their kitchen.  He was employed at Mountain Bell as a lineman and installing and repairing equipment for 30 plus years.  
 
Dad served honorably in the Navy from 1943-1947 during World War II.  He was an active member of the LDS church serving in many callings including bishop in the Rose Park 7th ward, in several bishoprics; and in the high counsel.  He served along with his eternal companion in the Dublin, Ireland mission from 1986 to 1988.  He served as a temple worker in the Salt Lake temple after his mission.  
 
He is survived by his daughters, Kathryn Horne, Sheila Perry and his son, Gaylon (Alice) Behunin.  Grandchildren, Ken (Wendy) Horne, Chris (Erin) Horne, Troy Horne, Tom (Alyssa) Horne, Jessica (Shawn) Olaveson, Alicia Seawright, Trisha (Jed) Fratello, Timothy (Jess) Perry, Kyle (Randi) Perry, Ryan Perry, Melinda Perry, Jennifer (Aaron) Adams, Jake (Chyrstal) Behunin, Cory (Heather) Behunin, and Marisa (Nic) Fox.  He has 35 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  
 
Preceded in death by his eternal companion Nelda Behunin and two great-grandchildren, Jentel Adams and BaiLee DiBernardo.  Also, preceded in death are his parents and brothers and sisters.  
 
Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing on May 4, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Mortuaries at 6500 So.  Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, Utah
Funeral Services will be held May 5, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.  Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. The funeral will be held at the Willow Grove Ward at 8539 So. 2200 W., West Jordan, Utah.
Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1950 E. Dimple Dell (10600 So.) Rd, Sandy, Utah.
