Earl “Champagne” Dennis Rogers Jr.

Earl “Champagne” Dennis Rogers Jr. was born February 19, 1965 to Earl Dennis Rogers, Sr. and Earline (Bonnie) Taylor in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away on April 21, 2021.
Earl nick-named himself “Champagne” due to his smoothness! Earl attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Elementary School, Judge Memorial Catholic High School and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1983. He participated in football and basketball during his school years, but later became an active weightlifter. He enlisted in the Navy in 1985 and discharged in 1988. Earl married Susan Dutton in 1993, but later divorced. In 2010, Earl suffered a major stroke and was partially paralyzed, but he continued to remain active in the gym, until his passing. He also enjoyed eating (fixing his to-go plates at family events) BMW’s and loved fashion. When you saw him, he was always dressed-up. Most of all, Earl was a comedian. He would make you laugh at any and everything. His love, humor, and friendship has left a mark and will be missed.
He is survived by both parents Earl Rogers, Sr (Valerie, deceased) (California) and Bonnie Burley (Walter) (Texas), sister, Lisa L. Rogers (California) and several step-brothers and step-sisters, countless aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Taylor and Rogers families in various states.
We would like to thank the following facilities over the years for his care: Rosewood Assisted Care, St. Mark’s Hospital, Lake Ridge Senior Living, Pheasant Hollow, South Davis Community Hospital, and University of Utah.
A Funeral Service will be held at The Point Church, 5133 Heath Avenue, Salt Lake City, UT 84118 on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Please practice proper COVVID-19 protocols.
For those unable to attend the services, Memorial Mortuaries and Cemeteries are offering a live streaming of the funeral service on Zoom.
