Duane La Verne Close

Duane La Verne Close, age 76, passed away on August 5th, 2018 in his home in Sandy, Utah. He was born on January 27th, 1942 in Medford, Oregon, to Ruben Vallard Close and Hazel Nettie Hopkins Close. He married Judith Irene Davis on November 30th, 1968. Mr. Close served 21 years in the U.S Navy, serving on the U.S.S Currituk, U.S.S Hancock, U.S.S Ranger, and U.S.S Enterprise. He was an Aviation Electronics Technician. He retired from the Navy in 1986.
He is survived by his wife Judith Irene Davis Close, sons Daniel B. Close, Steven B. Close, Benjamin P. Close, and daughter Jeniece L. Close Mitchell, and 12 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ruben J. Close and Hazel N. Hopkins Close, sister Myrna Jean Close Hudson, son Nathan Aaron Close, and grandson Tristen Lee Close.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the LDS Meeting House located at 6500 South Dixie Drive, West Jordan UT 84084.
