Duane Ellis
“Finer than frog hair”
March 22, 1947- April 18, 2017
Our loving Husband, Father, Grandpa, Uncle, Neighbor and-Friend left us suddenly on April 18. Duane married the love of his life Dawna on June 9th 1970.  Duane was devoted to his family and loved Dawna with all of his heart. He delighted in spending time with his children and grandchildren. A mechanic and driver by trade, he could fix anything and everything in his favorite place. (The garage). Duane was kind and stern he was tough and playful, he gave advice when it was needed but more often listened with an open heart (and sometimes a raised eyebrow). He respected hard work and expected that things were done right. And the tools better be put back in the right place! He didn’t say much and that sometimes said everything. He cheered our successes and felt the pain of our setbacks. He loved the outdoors and spending time at the cabin with his friends and family. He would often spend days with people in his garage fixing whatever needed fixing or just shoot the shit with a smile on his face.
Duane leaves us with heavy hearts that will be hard to mend and yet… We will see him in the faces of his children and grandchildren. We will remember the things he taught us! (The easy way or the hard way) We will be surrounded by the things he built and be loved by the people he befriended.
Duane is survived by his wife Dawna and his Mother Chloe, his children Laura (Mike) Maynes,  Kandius (Darrel) Packer, Chad (Angie) Ellis and Darrell (Tauna) Ellis… …And, all the many others who called him Dad. His Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and all of his many friends.
Friends and family join us for a private viewing on Monday April 24th from 12:00 to 3:00 at 6500 south Redwood Rd. Redwood Memorial Estates and a celebration of his life immediately after at their home. 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Come in a suit if you must but Duane was more at home in jeans and a shirt and would be happy if you came in work boots and a flannel shirt.
Join us for conversation and many happy memories of this great man.  Food will be provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the “Duane Ellis Memorial Fund”, America First Credit Union.
