Dr. Cecil Bryant Jacobson
October 2, 1936 — March 5, 2021
Dr. Cecil Bryant Jacobson, 84, passed away March 5, 2021, surrounded by family at his home in Springville, Utah due to complications from prior health afflictions. Cecil was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 2, 1936, the second child of Cecil and Irene Jacobson.
Cecil was a lifelong, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a full-time mission in Germany. He had such love for the German people and a fascination for their history.
Upon graduating from Utah State University with a premed degree, he then attended George Washington University where he obtained a medical degree as an OB-GYN. After graduating, he established his own practice in Washington, D.C. as a fertility specialist.
Cecil was best known for his love of history, science, love of nature – especially his time spent up in Lamb’s Canyon with family and friends, love of storytelling, card playing, his smile and sense of humor, love of teaching, and love of children. Cecil was a gospel scholar, generous, forgiving and kind.
Cecil married Joyce Kenyon on June 6, 1961, and later sealed in the Washington D.C. Temple. Together they were blessed with seven children, Stephany, CB, Tom, Pam, Chuck, Jon and Irene. They are a beautiful eternal family with deep and abiding faith. At the time of his passing, he and Joyce were married for 59 years.
There will be a graveside service held at Memorial Holladay Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Family and friends are welcome who wish to attend. We will also be live streaming the service on Zoom.
