Doyle Adley Peterson

September 4, 1927 — May 17, 2021

On September 4, 1927, in Redmond, Utah the eldest son of Adley Peterson (1901-1991) and Fawn Jorgensen (1906-1973) was born. 93 and a half years later surrounded by the comfort of family, the story of Doyle Peterson came to a close. We wish to celebrate those years in Doyle’s life.
Doyle lived in Redmond during the younger years of life, where he was greatly influenced by his grandparents. Although if you knew him its likely you’re already aware of that thanks to the countless stories he loved to share about life in this quaint central Utah town. He so loved it there.
In 1953 Doyle married Wilma Marshall (1932-2000). They lived a cheerful nomadic lifestyle across Utah and Nevada before finally settling down in Sandy, Utah. He was a truck driver and small business owner which kept him extremely busy. He would spend many hours every week with his sons keeping the trucks maintained. He drove well over a million miles during his long and hardworking career before retiring at 70.
Doyle was a caring son, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. His legacy will continue on in the lives of his children; Cynthia (Rod), John (Shelly), and Shela, as well as his siblings; Leon, Neldon (Della Rae) and Sharleen (Burns). He enjoyed family more than anything else in his life and bringing the family together, especially after Wilma died, was one of his greatest passions. He has 7 grandchildren; Amanda (Andy), Roxanne, Amber, Dillion, Clayton, Kyle, and Brooke (Logan) as well as 5 great-grandchildren; Nate, Nina, Niki, McKenzie and AJ. He had unconditional love for all of the people in his life, right down to his nieces and nephews, and his late son Jeff who for years he spoke with on the phone at least twice a day. It broke his heart when Jeff died in 2018.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and participating in all family activities. He loved writing thoughtful messages on anything he could write on including, but not limited to, greeting cards. He kept himself busy in the last twenty years of his life, you could say he was an expert tinkerer. He was constantly finding projects around his garage and yard. Every day he worked on something and often he could be found helping others with their projects as well.
He repeatedly thanked each and every person who crossed his path with a helping hand and wished that his love and gratitude for them would be felt for years and years to come. So, here’s to life and love. What ever roll you played in Doyle’s life, thank you.
