Douglas Kenneth Butler

March 21, 1951 — September 9, 2021

Douglas Kenneth Butler, age 70, passed away on September 9, 2021. He was born to Kenneth Alvin Butler and Mildred Ida Persson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Doug spent his early years in Murray, Utah and graduated from Granite High School. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Helsinki Finland mission and later attended the University of Utah and Westminster College.
Doug adored his three children, Brian, Brad and Laura, and shared with them his lifelong love of the outdoors. In 2001, he married Susan Fiedel and added her children, Kristen, Allyson, Julie and Roland Tyler, to their now large, blended family. He was employed at FLSmidth, formerly Eimco, at the time of his passing.
Doug is survived by his wife Susan; sisters Susan Moon, Anne (Mel) Heath and Karen (Paul) Bedont; children Brian Butler, Bradley Butler and Laura (Mike) Mason; step-children Kristen (Rapha) Cordova, Allyson Fiedel, Julie (Grant) Sackett, and Roland Tyler (Kiersti) Fiedel; grandchildren Ryan, Taggart, Elouise, Charley, Lucy and River; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Heaven is a livelier place with you there, Dougie, our certified barbecue judge and king of the grill. Love and miss you tons and tons!
Funeral Services will be held on September 17, 2021 at 12:00 pm with an hour and a half viewing prior to services at the Crescent 12th Ward; 89 East 11000 South, Sandy, Utah, 84070. Interment to follow at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary; 10055 S State St, Sandy, Utah, 84070.  Services will also be Live-Streamed; https://zoom.us/j/95536517829
