Douglas Lee Capps. Died on May 27th, 2024.
He was married to Michael Ann Capps for 58 years.
Doug proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He truly embodied the Navy’s core values of honor, courage, and commitment.
You could always count on Doug for a joke or story that was a little too inappropriate and a laugh that was a little too loud. His quick wit and infectious sense of humor never failed to bring a smile to the faces of everyone around him. Doug was instantly loved by everyone he met. He had a remarkable gift for making strangers feel like old friends.
Doug had a special way of making his family feel loved and appreciated, filling our lives with endless laughter and the occasional eye roll.
His poorly timed jokes, love for McDonald's tea, and funny t-shirts will forever live on in our hearts and memories. Guess we don't need to watch TV on mute anymore.
For the last time: fifteen-two, fifteen-four, a pair is six, and nubs is seven.
He was survived by his wife Michael Ann, daughter Lisa (John) McAtee, and son Scott Capps. Grandchildren: Miles (Becca) McAtee, Hannah McAtee, Sean Capps, and Austin Capps. Great granddaughter: Elaine Michael McAtee. Sister: Gay Pierson.
A celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in his honor to the Ronald McDonald House
