Douglas Brent Mietchen

Douglas Brent “Woogie” Mietchen, 67 lost his battle with ALS on September 20, 2016. He passed away at his home in Lehi, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born December 21, 1948 in Salt Lake City to Raymond D & Joyce Colleen Mietchen.
He married the love of his life Rhonda, on February 27, 1970. Together they had 3 Children.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and almost any other activity that brought him outdoors. His favorite thing to do was anything that involved spending time with his family.
Woogie was a friend to everyone he met. He made everyone feel welcome and always had a joke to share. Whether you were meeting him for the first time or you’d know him for years he made you feel like you could talk to him for days about anything.
Doug fought his battle with ALS the way he lived his life, with his whole heart and soul. This disease is a terrible, crippling disease, he fought a good fight and never once complaining.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis “Denzo”.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda. Children Chris (Cheryl) Mietchen, Craig (Michelle) Mietchen, Michele (Jeb) Brost. 13 grandchildren and 3 great grand children.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, September 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Service 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan.
A reception will follow at Michele & Jeb Brost’s house 1050 West 1220 North Lehi, UT (Michele 307-677-0897)
