Dorothy Robbins James our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend returned to her Heavenly Father on January 4, 2022. She was born on February 1, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Spencer Long Robbins and Lillian Henrietta Robbins. She met her spouse, Morgan E. James on a blind date arranged by mutual friends. They were later married July 16, 1960 in Elko, Nevada. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Dorothy was a graduate of West High school. Over her lifetime she worked many jobs but one of her most favorite was working at F.H.P. She worked there for 10 years and received several recognitions for being an outstanding employee. She cherished her time there and made many lifelong friends.
Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She loved being a mother and raising her two boys. She loved attending all of their baseball games and cheering them on. She opened her home to everyone as the place for sharing stories and enjoying a good laugh. She loved her grandchildren and attended many of their dance concerts over the years. She loved seeing them smile and enjoyed every minute with them.
One of her favorite hobbies was traveling to Branson, Missouri to attend shows with her friends Peggy and Vicky. She loved those shows and would talk about them often. Also, she developed a love for movies at an early age and attended many with her father. She also enjoyed watching her favorite tv shows Gunsmoke, MASH and Everybody loves Raymond. She also had a love of music and attended several local productions of Broadway Musicals. Neil Diamond was a favorite singer but she especially loved Barry Manilow. Dorothy was fun loving, caring and loved to laugh. We love you and will miss you until we meet again.
She is survived by her children: Dana W. James(Daneen), Lyle L James(Lorie) and 2 grandchildren, Madison Olivia James and Megan Elizabeth Robertson
She is preceded in death by husband, Morgan E. James and parents
Funeral Service will be on Friday January 14, 2022 at 2pm Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemeteries 3115 E. 7800 S. Cottonwood Heights Ut 84121.
Prior to services there will be a viewing from 1pm to 2pm at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemeteries at the same location as the services
