Dorothy Lee Behunin

Dorothy Lee Behunin passed away on October 6, 2019 in Bountiful, Utah at the age of 84. She was born on November 9, 1934 in Deming, New Mexico to Dorothy Hazel Haight and Walter Clarence Chalk. She married William Eugene Behunin on October 30, 1953 and their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 26, 1961.
Dorothy was affectionately called by her son, Randall, “the old goat”. He could never send her a serious birthday card without getting into trouble.
Dorothy loved chocolate cake and anything else chocolate. She also loved “hot dogs”. She had many friends that visited her and she loved having company. She loved to take drives, going out to eat and shopping at Walmart. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved reading her scriptures.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Hazel Haight and Walter Clarence Chalk, her husband, William, her son, William Jr, her sister, Mary Ann and her brothers, Walter, Henry, Melvin and Robert.
Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Randall and Jeff, her two sisters, Lorena and Beverly, her 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
We are very thankful to her friend Kathy, who was with her when she passed away. Dorothy loved her family. We are sad she is gone but we all know she is happy to be with her loved ones again. She will always be remembered.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Westbrook 4th Ward, located at 6364 South 3200 West, Taylorsville, Utah 84123. Interment will be on Monday, October 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
