Dorothy Jean Jacobson, “Grandma Red” passed away on April 6, 2014, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 14, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles William and Dorothy Merelda Cox Simons. She was the oldest of 6 children, Bill, Audrey, Marilyn, Frankie and Cathrine. She married George Mathew Gaisford; they had 4 daughters, Patricia (Jim) Craner, Sandy (Glen) Morse, Sue Fullmer, and Kathi (Gary) Blair. She was married for eternity to Earl Jacobson. They have a son, Michael (Stacy) Jacobson. Jean leaves behind 123 living posterity whom she adored. Mom had a joyous reunion with many family members including her daughter, Kathi.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Redwood Memorial, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan. Viewings will be held on Tuesday from 6-8:00 pm and again one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Interment to follow.
