Dorothy Ball

Dorothy “Dot” Jean Erickson Ball, 79, left this life on November 21 after a long illness. She was born January 23, 1938 to Leo and Nellie Ferguson Erickson. She was the youngest of 5 children, all who preceded her in death. She met the love of her life, Chad E. Ball, in Junior High. They attended West High School together, where she was the “beautiful” cheerleader and Chad was the quarterback. She attend Stevens Henagar College and earned her associate degree in Office Management. They were married on June 1, 1957 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Dot’s happiness was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She worked as a culinary artist at Kearns High School where she loved all the high school kids but especially the ladies she considered her dear friends. Dot made many houses homes in the Salt Lake area and St. George. Dot never met a dessert or cup of coffee she didn’t like. She will be missed terribly but is free of pain and suffering. She is survived by her loving husband Chad, son Brad (Teri), daughter Christene, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by son Robert. A service will be held to honor her on Tuesday, November 28 at 2:00 p.m. at the Redwood Memorial Mortuary.
