Doris Wade

August 1, 1932 — August 29, 2015

Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Doris Elaine Wade passed away August 29, 2015. She was born on August 1, 1932 in Salt Lake City, to Hercle and Lena Lancaster. Married Daniel K. Wade on November 1, 1949 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Later was married to Jerry Thompson for seven years.
Doris was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She enjoyed being Relief Society president and serving in Young Women’s and teaching the youth in Sunday School. The youth were her favorite. She had a blast going toilet papering with them.
Doris loved people. Everywhere she went she made friends. She made people smile and laugh. She also loved and collected hearts. Doris had a heart of gold.
One of the highlights of her life was going on trips to Oregon throughout the years.
She is survived by her children Brent (Chris), Ken (Aleece), Dan (Luisa), Julie (Kevin) Llewelyn; 15 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren, Sister, Marilyn (Dick), Beverley; Sister-in-Laws, Judy Prince, Faye Wade and former daughter-in-law, Mary Wade. Preceded in death by her husband, Dan, her parents, Hercle and Lena and her eldest grandson, Chad.
The family gives a special thank you to Legacy Retirement, Riverton Hospital, Health South Rehab, Compass Rehab, Legacy House, Aspire Home Health & Hospice and Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary for all the love and care they gave their mom.
Mom, Grandma, we will miss you with all our hearts, but we are so happy you are with Dad once again.
A viewing will be held, Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Murray Memorial Mortuary, 5850 S 900 E from 6-8 p.m. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015, 10:00 amat Holladay Memorial Park, 4900 S Memory Lane, (1990 E).
