Doris Lynn Arnold Mendenhall passed peacefully from this life in Salt Lake City on November 16, 2016. She was born in Lawrence, Utah to Glyndwr and Bertha Arnold on January 4, 1926. Both parents had passed away by age seven and she was raised with her siblings by Mae Arnold. She married Joseph Hal Mendenhall on August 8, 1945 and was later sealed in the Manti Temple.
Doris was a good athlete and especially loved playing tennis with Hal and her 5 boys, Dayle, Ronnie, Hugh, Douglas and Guy. She played the clarinet in her school marching band, loved learning and was an avid reader. Doris had a beautiful alto voice and faithfully sang in the Taylorville 8th Ward choir for many years. Always a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she loved watching her sons participate in sports. She was dearly loved by her siblings, children, and grandchildren and will be sorely missed.
We wish to express appreciation to her son Guy, Lyddia, Jason and Alta Ridge Assisted Living for their amazing care and love of our mother for the past 10 years. She made many friends including residents and staff who brought so much joy to her life. We would also like to thank Lisa & Thomas at Millcreek Home Health and Hospice for the special care and love that were always given to Doris.
