Doris met Morgan at a church dance. They loved to dance. Doris married Morgan Ward Harrison, their marriage was later sealed October 15th, 1962 in the Logan Utah Temple. Morgan purchased a truck and camper so that when he retired they could travel. He passed away before that happened. Several years after Morgan’s death when Trent convinced her to date again, she told him, he has to be able to dance. Trent introduced her to Hugh Brown. A few months later they came by our house with a marriage certificate from Nevada. He could dance so they danced and traveled all over the United States. After his death she married Leroy Bird and they also traveled. What a woman! She buried 3 husbands and 2 children. Now she gets to go be with her loved ones on the other side of the veil.
Doris has many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren nieces and nephews who all adored and loved her. If she found out that anyone needed anything she would always make sure they got it if she possibly could. She was so kind, loving and compassionate. Doris loved to knit and crochet. She made many blankets, shawls, slippers just to name a few. She even made cute crocheted candles which will be given to her grandchildren as a remembrance of their grandmother.
Doris worked for many years at University of Utah in food services and retired from there. She is a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held several positions I will only mention the Mission she served with Hugh Brown to the Atlanta Georgia Mission. Doris has many friends in the wards that she has lived in. Her friends ,Visiting Teachers, Relief Society Presidents have all been so kind and loving towards her and always mention how much they loved her and enjoyed her sense of humor. Her home teachers always made sure she had the sacrament every week after she could no longer go to church.
For the past 17 years Doris’s daughter Yvonne has taken care of her. She has cooked, cleaned, done laundry, taken care of the yard, has taken her to her Dr’s appointments, prepared meals etc… Thank you Angel Yvonne.
