Dorian “Dode” Carter

June 16, 1937 — February 27, 2015

Dorian LaVell Carter returned to his Father in Heaven February 27, 2015. Dode, as his friends and family knew him was a loving father, doting grandfather; kind brother and devoted friend. He was loved by those who knew him best.
Dorian was born June 16, 1937 in Shelby, Mt. to John and Mildred Carter. He served in the Northern States Mission. His love for his Father in Heaven was why he could often be found on his knees, in the scriptures, or in the temple. His love for family was why he could often be found in their homes saying “let's go do something”. That “something” usually included food, camping, pick-nicks, movies or music – all things he loved as well.
Survived by: daughters; Camille (Jeff), Carey, and Cathy. Grandchildren; Alex, Preston, James, Carter, Chandler, and Carrigan. Four brothers and two sisters. Preceded in death by: Parents, two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Cottonwood 11th Ward, 11:00 a.m., 1830 East 6400 South. Friends and family may call at the Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 S Highland Drive on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm., and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Holladay Memorial Park. Memories may be shared with the family at www.holladaycottonwoodmortuary.com
