Our loving Mother, grandmother, sister and aunt died of natural causes on January 4,2021 in Salt Lake City Utah at the age of 86. Dora was born on July 15, 1934 in Didam, Netherlands and immigrated to the United States where she proudly became a US citizen in 1967.
Having lived in Holland during World War ll there were many stories her and her other six siblings often shared with family and friends. Some stories were heartwarming and funny but others were of the German occupation and the hardships they endured. It’s because of those experiences and her sister Ann (Demers) she owned and operated several nursing homes to care for our veterans and elderly.
Dora always enjoyed social get togethers with family and friends and opened her home to everyone. It was always the more the merrier and friends became part of the family. She loved looking good and current fashion; somewhere out there someone is wearing one of her multiple outfits from Steinmart. This little lady had style from hot pants and knee high boots to sparkling blouses and earrings.
She is survived by her daughter Maxine, grandchildren Jason and Baylee, great grandchildren Kaia, Adalyn, Logan and Carrie as well as her loving sister Trudy and former spouse Chris Danen.
Dora is preceded in death by siblings Joe, Mary, Ann, Alex and Grades along with her former spouse David Roberts.
Dora will be laid to rest in Elysian Burial Gardens beside the rest of our family that has passed. Due to the current world events a celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
