Dora Lovelady

December 15, 1919 — October 11, 2013

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend Dora Nelson Lovelady was born on December 15, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Pierce and Edith Mann Nelson. She married Thomas Benjamin Lovelady August 5, 1939. He preceded her in death March 5, 1999. Dora began her next adventure after a fall and natural causes on October 11, 2013.
Graduating from West High she was a true once a panther, always a panther. She retired after 30 years from Utah Wildlife Fish and Game as a bookkeeper. Dora loved her family and friends. Cousin lunches, letters, phone calls, or a visit was always welcome. She enjoyed being busy. She was a member of the Macabees and other clubs and served in many positions. She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, photography, exercising, and anything where she could learn something new. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved going to the Temple with her group of ladies.
She is survived by her sons Kent (Marie); Steve (Gwynn), 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Also preceded in death by parents, sister, and brother Ron. Special thanks to Legacy House, friends, and neighbors.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 11 am at LDS Church on 1327 W 5550 S Taylorsville, UT 84123. Viewing will be held Tuesday, October 15 from 6-8 pm at Redwood Memorial Estates on 6500 S Redwood Rd, Taylorsville, UT. Viewing will also be held at 10 am at the LDS Church.
