Donna Heddlesten

January 3, 1928 — October 29, 2018

Donna, age 90, died on October 29, 2018 at home in South Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born January 3, 1928, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Arthur and Miriam Henricksen. She married Keith W. Heddlesten on August 2, 1946 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Donna was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Our mom was a kind, giving, and caring lady. She was a soft spoken and non-judgmental. Mom loved being a homemaker and caring for her family and others. She often spoke of her fond memories of growing up in Murray, Utah where she attended Murray High School and worked at Tyler’s Ice Cream Shop. In 1962, she and dad moved into the Fire Station in South Salt Lake City, Utah, where they raised their four children. While living at the station, when dad would get a call to go out to fight a fire, mom would make sure the fire station was secured and man the emergency switchboard. Mom enjoyed traveling with dad while attending the Fire Chief’s Conventions in different states. Wednesdays were the South Salt Lake City Credit Union days. Mom was the only employee who got to work from her kitchen table in her home. She loved working for the credit union and visiting with the members.
Being a Cub Scout leader and teaching children in Primary, singing along with the children’s Primary songs were two of her favorite things to do. On Primary days her family could always count on, what her children called Primary Supper, which was Beans and Franks Casserole.
The family would like to give special thanks to Wendy for her kindness and support, as well as the nurses and staff at Inspiration Home Health, especially Leslie.
Survived by her sons, Mark (Colby), David (Shauna), and Evan; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard, Ray, and James; sisters, Geri and Deaun.
Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Keith; daughter, Leslie Ann; sister, Maurine; brothers-in-law, Tony and Norm; sisters-in-law, Sylvia and Jeannie.
