Donna LaVerne Christensen

Donna LaVerne Christensen, age 97, passed away on July 30, 2024 in West Valley City, Utah. She was born on January 11, 1927 in Salem, Idaho to Thora Evelyn Taysom and John Henry Hope. Donna married Walter Leon Miller on January 15, 1945 and later divorced and married George Christensen on October 14, 1999. 

Donna raised 4 boys and 2 girls - 1 grandson and 2 great-grandsons. She loved remodeling houses, doing crafts, crocheting, painting, and wallpapering. She loved her children, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She always opened her doors to all and any kids in the neighborhood who needed help (she had a big heart). Donna loved dancing to country music, enjoyed fishing with her husband George Christensen and vacationing at their summer home in Rexburg, Idaho with the grandkids. 

Donna is survived by her sons Jim (Sherrie) Miller, Terry (Linda) Miller, Lary Miller, Jerry Miller, by her daughters, Charlotte (Gary) Beard, Shauna Sommer, her grandson Trever Miller, and great-grandson Cayden Miller. 

She is preceded in death by her husband George Christensen, great-grandson Layden Miller, her brother Vern, and by her sisters Rhea, Ellen, Lila, Bernice, LaRee, LaRita, and Leona. 

A viewing will be held on Tuesday August 6, 2024 at 1 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, Utah 84123. A graveside service will follow at 3 PM.
